60 students to be vacated from patiala law university

The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law was declared a contamination zone after 60 students tested positive for Covid infection. The affected students had mild symptoms and were quarantined in separate buildings. The University authorities were asked to vacate the building by May 10 to control the further spread of the infection.

With the surging numbers in several states, 16 school-going students in Uttarakhand tested positive for infection. Meanwhile, IIT-M  has reported cases of over 170 with strict measures taken to prevent the spreading to other places. 

In a larger picture, India has reported 3,275 cases in the last 24 hours, a rise of 2.2% from the last reported numbers. Delhi, Kerala, Haryana, UP, and Maharashtra have reported the highest number of cases with 55 confirmed deaths increasing the mortality toll to 5.23 lakhs.
